Alright, while i can get my own sources for this information, I think it would be intresting to ask you guys for a little help... I am doing a school project, and I got to get information about how the military established itself in Hawaii, and some pretty basic information about how it is today, and will be in the future... If i were to ask anyone about this, I would ask any of you, because our common intrests in warfare. Alright, I'm out, thanks in advance for any help you give.

P.S. It would be helpful if you left resources of where you got the information from.  (bibliography)

Have fun with this, and feel free to turn this into a chatroom. Tongue

Dylan,

as for how the military got established in hawaii that is simple.  Manifest Destiny.   The US took over Hawaii, and as a result established bases there, Pearl and then Hickam with the advent of airplanes.   As far as current military in Hawaii I can tell you about the NAVY side being that I am active duty NAVY.

I remember trying to get stationed in Hawaii (Army)....it was the only place where you would "volunteer" for extra duty.....like beach cleanup!
