Crash to desktop when selecting Multiplayer tab

After installing NAW 3.9 (steps described below) I am unable to play as I crash to desktop whenever I click on the multi-player tab.  I've seen other posts about this problem, but none with any answers.

I attempted to run in windowed mode so I could see any error message which was being thrown, but no message was displayed when I crashed.  So, I cannot provide any more information.

I have battlefield 2 with Special Forces, Euro Forces and Armored Fury.  I installed the full version of the 1.3 patch.  When installing NAW, I installed the standalone 3.9 client, then I installed each of the map packs in order (1, 2, and 3). 

I'm running with:
AMD 64 3700+
1 GB of RAM
NVidia GeForce 7600 GT

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try uninstall and reinstalling.

where did you get your download from?

try somewhere else (just the client, not the mappacks).
