Cant launch or find NAW mods

  Hello all ,

I dowloaded all 3 packs and added the patch , after doing this I didnt notice and new desktop icon ... but I read a couple post here that mentioned to go into the game and just laugh it under community then custom .

All I see there is bf2 Special Forces and PRoject reality.... someone here please tell me how to get the shortcut added to desktop ? I installed all 3 packs and said finished not sure what the hell is going on here and help appreciated .

go to this directory - C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods

if you see a folder called 'naw' and it has maps in the levels folder, then you have it, and should see it in your community section.

it will set a shortcut on your desktop if you installed it correctly.

another way of getting a shortcut is to copy/paste your vanilla bf2 shortcut to your desktop, right-click and go to properties.

paste the following over what is there...

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/naw

Its there the entire folder is there but it is not listed in community nor on my desktop , trying the copy paste thing now but dont have my hopes up ... hope it works .

 Okay I did what you said and i copy pasted that into my "target" part of the icon... I loaded up fine but when I clicked multiplayer it crashed to desktop... sigh ... been wanting to play this all day this is my luck.... why didnt I get a icon ?

I downloaded it clean... installed all 3 maps ... got the new patch and it should run whats going on here ?

did you download the full CLIENT files???

doesn't sound like you did - you need these, then run the patch.

Yeah I didnt for some reason see that DL , everything is working find... course now I see that there is nobody playing the game and its a multiplayer mod only... Im beginning to wonder if this was even worth it .

Are there servers Im not seeing I looked around and all I see is people talking about tournies etc.... sigh .

like with most of the other mods, poe2 had removed a lot of the 'pubbie' support.

we used to have up to 60 servers, with half of them populated the majority of the time.

the tourney is out tournament.   it runs for 8 hours on saturdays, for 10 weeks usually - a different map each week.
