Crash to desktop

I just installed NAW 5.1 exe and map pack 4. When I click on the icon for NAW, i get the splash screen then it goes black and crashes to DT. Any ideas?

firetruck88, there is no MAP PACK 4 for NAW 5.0 (yet), so if you installed the NAW 4.0 Map Pack 4 then that is the reason you are crashing to desktop.

so i should unistall 5 or install map pax 1-3?

there are no NAW 5.0 MAP PACKs 2 and 3 ..... We used to have NAW 4.0 MAP PACK's 1-4...We no longer have these listed on nawmod.com...They are not compatible with NAW 5.0

If you have ANY NAW 4.0 MAP PACKs installed...un-install them please.

so the best way to play the single player is to just use 3.9 then?

3.9???  You need to PLEASE perform ALL of the following steps to get any further help:

1.  Remove ALL previous N@W installations
2.  Ensure you have BF2 patched to version 1.41
3.  Install N@W 5.0 ONLY DO NOT INSTALL ANY PREVIOUS VERSIONS
4.  Install the 5.01 client patch
5.  Install N@W 5.0 Map pack 1 Do not install any map packs but this one
6.  Play N@W with maps available in list

For more maps you have to wait for the devs to release other map packs.  There are no maps from previous versions that are compatible with N@W 5.0.  Installing any of those maps WILL result in problems including, incorrect displays in-game, unpredictable behavior in AND out of game and, most of all, CTDs

At this point, it safe to say that N@W V5.x will be the primary focus of the developers.  Mixing versions will only make it more difficult for them to indentify problems and resolve issues in the current version.
