Install Issues

Hi all,
just to say I have been a part of this forum since last January when I ran across your mod, but I have had nothing to say so i didnt register.  But anyway now I do have a problem installing your great mod, for the second time (I got a new hard drive so I had to start from scratch). I have read through all the other threads and could not find my problem.

NAW 5.01 Patch installed: Yes/No- well no, because i could not get it to install
Did you re-install everything correctly again?: Yes/No- no

Description of problem:
When I get about 50% through the installation it tells me the file could not be decompressed and I have the option to abort, retry, or ignore.  When I retry it does not work again, and when I skip it the game crashes when it tries to load the object i skipped.

I used the NAW server for the download- if that helps anything.

Should I try to re-download this whole thing? The weird thing is when I try to install the map packs it gets to a same point and we go through the whole process again, and skipping it only solves the problem until I try to play the game.

Any help is appriciated!!

Hmmm...it's a bit strange...I'm sorry you're having problems install the MOD...why don't you download it again and see if you get the same problem....save it to a different place than the other one.

also...right-click the old NAW-5.0.exe you downloaded and go to "properties" ....and give me the the size it shows on "Size on disk"

ok I am downloading now.
For the size on disk it says 1.79 GB or 1,922,929,738 bytes

if you follow these instructions you cant go wrong.

N.A.W MOD 5.0 Installation instructions

1. Download the 5.0 Stand Alone exe...double click the .exe ...
the installation program will open and after a few "next" clicks the program will find your BF2 mods folder and install the mod.

2. Download the NAW 5.01 Patch (3mb) and run the installer.

hmmmm the redownload did it. it works great now!!! funny thing is it is the exact same size as the old one

yeh it happens on a big download looses structure  or gets corrupt.
