patches

sorry for the noobish question, but im new at this i would like to know how to install patches, also could someone tell be if any of these patches enables singleplayer on NAW?

1. Download the 5.0 Stand Alone exe...double click the .exe ... the installation program will open and after a few "next" clicks the program will find your BF2 mods folder and install the mod.

2. Download the NAW 5.01 Patch (3mb) and run the installer.

3. Additional Map Packs can be downloaded from the "Downloads" section

but do i just install the patch in the mods folder, or somewhere in the mod folder itself
