Hello,

I'm enjoying the mod ! Good work Grin.

The only problem I've encountered is on the map "None but the Brave" which has black (missing?) textures on some of the buildings. I wonder if it's a lighting problem because occasionally some of the textures are just visible. Is the map author aware of this problem ? BTW it's a nice map Smiley

Dude, I had this problem last night... I thought it was a lighting problem with the maps.  Based on the answer I got:

You are running an Nvidia card right?
If so, you need to turn down your textures to medium. It sucks I know, but that's apparently one of the symptoms of a fault with Nvidia cards and BF2.  I ran into this problem on 3 different night maps, and Kano told me to change it yesterday, works great now.

Really ? Is that what it is ? Thanks.

I'll try this tonight. I assume you mean turn down to medium in BF2, not anything in the Nvidia settings.

Exactly... I have dual 8800GTXs and I can't run high on everything because I end up with black buildings or other such non-sense on night maps... it's a fault in BF2, not within your video card or NAW.  Anyways, since I turned it all to medium... I'm getting like 90 fps

Stop by tonight on the teamspeak server 72.36.221.2 p:headshot
let's play a little... or a lot.

Thanks for the offer. My health is just not good enough for online games yet. I have to pause the game for a while every so often (it a long story ... lol). I suppose I could play as a lone wolf and backoff ervry so often, but for critical squad action I think I'd just be a liability.

BTW .... I fixed the "black textures" problem. This is what I did.

1. I carefully tested the settings to find out the minimum that has to be changed to fix it.

2. This is what I found. You have to use MEDIUM DYNAMIC SHADOWS (NOT TEXTURES) and it is fixed. At least, it is on my Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT with 175.16 drivers.

3. If necessary you might have to delete the optimised shaders cache in "C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack\cache", esp if you get a crash (this will fix it by forcing shader re-optimising). But you may not have to do this on some systems.

4. I have everything else turned up to MAX inncluding anti aliasing.

Thankyou for your time Smiley

Sorry to hear about your health problems DoubleEnforcers, but also thank you very much for pin-pointing that problem. It's good to know and to pass on that info to others   Smiley
