Map packs?

Am I supposed to download all the map packs to be playing on all the servers? I hate it when I get kicked because I don't have a certain map the server changes to. If I don't need all the map packs, which ones do I need to be able to stay into the servers? They also take FOREVER for me to download and take too much space...(it's about 4 gigs)

Dude, that's really up to the server owner which of the map packs gets played.  Most servers run a variety of maps from different map packs.  Some server owners prefer to play infantry killing parties while others prefer more vehicles and others well, a variety.  On the Official Nations At War server we play a variety, often we choose different maps just because we haven't played them in a while or it sounds fun at the time.
If you send me a personal message with your address, I'll send you DVDs with all the map packs.  Yeah, it takes up space on the old HDD, but you are getting 90+ maps of mayhem.

Well, thanks for the fast reply. I downloaded 4 of them overnight so it's no problem anymore. Thanks for offering to send me the DVD's with the map packs though.

Map pack 5 should be downloaded too.....it updates some of the maps in the other 4 packs

did you install the first 4 packs in order??  Map pack 5 updates several of the maps in previous ones as well as installing new maps...

Go to the troubleshooting section....read the "Read this First" sticky....fill out the template with the relevant info.
