Hello all, new to the forum.

PC specs
Vista Home 32bit
Phenom 9600 quad
4 gig ram
8600gt

I dl the mod pack at 2mbs took about 15 minutes (5.2v) and installed map pack 1 to get me in the game fast. Rebooted pc after installs and set them to run in admin as with my other bf2 mods. Her is the thing, I open the game , the screen goes black and I get an error saying i need directx 9.0 or higher to run bf2. For giggles I went and reinstalled directx to see if it would help, no dice.

All my other mods and reg bf2's work just great. I hope someone can help me out, and thanks in advance.

HELP me, I can't think outside the BOX

Let me get this straight, you downloaded the full NAW 5.2 in 15 min?  If so, well, your internet connection must be REALLY fast... it's 1.8 GB!!!
As for the mappacks, you're looking at ~800MB each... you might want to check your file sizes and make sure you got good downloads.

Yes at 2.01 mb/sec 1.8 gig files dl fast. I have done all the dls right off this website, the same of which my clan mates have as well.

Can I could some help on what the error is all about.Huh??

I guess I could uninstall it and try again.

well yeah... the first thing I would do is uninstall the mod, reinstall the mod and all of the map packs in order... you need to install all of the map packs since there are fixes for all the maps in subsequent map packs, and map pack 5 actually has fixes for all of the previous map  packs... so install them in order.
If that doesn't work, hmm... I don't know... I'll think of something.

Us devs cannot give you any help unless you read the sticky's in the troubleshooting section. Particularly the first sticky...which you haven't done because your original post would have the correct form filled out.

I did read it, but was in a hurry, as 7 other clan mates had the same problem. It turns out that for whatever reason the NAW RANKED icon leads you to an error with black screen, yet the regular icon does not.

well being in a hurry is not an excuse.  The devs have posted those stickys for a reason.  They contain the common troubleshooting steps that must be performed before we can help you out further.  also posting systems is a must.  The N@W mod is very memory/resource intensive and a machine with 512mb of ram doesn't work the same as one with 2GB.
