I used PC Formats' Disc for NAW 5.2 Mod, and the mod won't load.

After I bought a copy of Pc format (Issue 216 Aug 2008) it had the installer for NAW 5.2, when installed, I double click the shortcut(s) and the BF2 image appears, then a black screen comes on, then a small black square at the top left of my desktop followed by a black screen, then it closes and I hear my BF2 cd/computer sounding like the disc is spinning and somethings loadin then after about 40 seconds that stops, so can anyone help me?

I have BF2 with no updates/patches it's just installed on my PC and runs perfectly.

EDIT: After loading BF2 without the NAW mod, I went to options or somewhere and clicked on the NAW 5.2 MOD and activate and the problem still happens.

Pc format has never contacted us about adding our mod to their DVD so we can not vouch for the installation file...that's not to say we are gonna shine you on...We really need more info. Read the first thread in the Troubleshooting section and post the info back here.

Description of problem:
Game crashes after I open it up.

P.S: some stuff like "menu_client" and "Common_server" are in .Rar format.
And how do I check if I have the mappack etc installed? And if I need BF 1.41 patch where can I get it from? If you want I can try to upload the full naw folder onto a downloading site.

You need to install BF2 1.41 Patch .."this is a "given" in gaming 101. You always patch the game with the latest official patch before you install a mod.

also, download and install the patch to take the game to 5.2 and install all the mappacks in order... you're gaming experience will be significantly increased.

As an aside and warning; some people, depending on OS and other unknown variables have experienced issues when updating their BF2 Patch and had to do it incrementally from the 1.1 to 1.2, 1.3 to 1.41.  So if you get installer errors on the patch, attempt to incrementally install the patches.
