Hi,

you should make your system up-to date at first;
1. WinXP SP3 and all patches;
2. DirectX 9 (& latest upgrades);

after this
3. you should (and must) upgrade your BF2 with the latest BF2 patch (1.41).

Note: if you use BF2 Booster Packs - then you must use the BF2 1.41 patch after every Booster Pack install - again.

 Now and only then you can use NAW 5.2 (!) with all yet available Map Packs.
Make you clear that the Map Packs must be installed in order ( first #1 then #2 and so on. Pack #5 must be the last).

After this - NAW 5.2  should run.

Note: Use the BF2 in-game graphic options with  "medium" and max. "4-AA" settings.
Equal BF2 runs with a higher in-game graphic setup on your system.


If NAW would yet not run, run it in window mode to check out whats happend...

1. Running in windowed mode
EA/DICE made something good, and that is windowed mode.
To simply run the game windowed, right click the shortcut, click properties,
and see that target box? Copy and paste this to replace whats in the target box.

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +fullscreen 0

Now you'd replace the C:\Program Files\etc. with the directory that you installed BF2 in.
To use a different mod, just add this on the end:

+modPath mods/naw

Run the game now, and it will be windowed. If not, add this on the end.

+szx 800 +szy 600

example "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +modPath mods/naw

Now, play as you normally would. Once you get to the part that CTD'd last time,
it may pop up an error message, telling you what's wrong. No matter what button you hit, it exits out of the game.
