Submarine Firing missle's ?????????

I have read other topic's about firing missle's with the sub. then i have tried many times to firing the missle's. But if i am on the surface and i try to fire a missle it blows up the sub -.-  nothing works can any one tell me how to fire missle's without blowing up the sub.

Kano:

switch to firing position,
select the tomahawk missile,
move curser to the top of the targeting view,
move it down a fraction and fire,
don't try to steer tomahawk till its cleared the sub.
