To fix the problem with the invisible terrain texture;

Right-click you NAW shortcut and go to the Comparability tab

check> Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

check> Disable desktop composition

Check> Run this program as an administrator

That should fix it...the problem comes from a DirectX overlay problem in Windows 7

As far as randomly crashing I can't really help you...you seem to be O.K with your game updates and hardware specs...although the 220 GT is stretching it...it's the low end of a far newer chipset than the original older requirements...but it doesn't really have the punch to play NAW the way it's meant to be played. Also 2GB of memory is minimum for BF2...it shouldn't be a problem for BF2 but NAW has so many more vehicles and effects it needs to load on any given map than the standard BF2.
