Every time i play naw my pc lags constantly as I play.
So I want to remove the half of bots to stop the lag.I tried to change the max number of bots to 16 then naw crashes on load.
How can I change the bot number?

Do you think your PC lagging was normal? I mean if your PC is old, then it might be normal but crashing doesn't sound good at all. If you don't have any problems running BF2 (without any mods) or if you didn't have any problems running NAW before, I suggest you reinstall it (maybe even reinstall BF2 first). If you have edited any files of BF2 or NAW, the crash might be because of that, otherwise corrupted game files.
Anyway if you just want to try and change the number of bots, I'm not sure for NAW, but for BF2 you open this file "...\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\AI" with notepad and read the instructions in the file which basically involves placing the word REM in front of each of the first 5 lines starting with 'aiSettings.set', then removing the REM's in front of the next 4 lines starting with 'aiSettings.set'. Change the number at the end of the aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32 line to determine the number of bots to use (e.g. aiSettings.setMaxNBots 64 for 64 bots).
If this doesn't work for NAW, then there should be a similar file located in the naw directory under ...\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods. However, I'm not sure.
If you think your PC is powerful enough to run the game smoothly, then like I said, you should reinstall before trying anything else.
It's nice to see some people are trying to keep this mod alive. I'm actually thinking of going back to playing BF2 mods and NAW is one of the first that came to my mind. Are there any servers running at the moment?
PS: I suggest you use the "troubleshooting" section of the forum for this type of topic.
